Multi-Channel Order Management
Most restaurants rely on a single ordering channel — a phone line answered by staff, or a third-party delivery app that takes 30% commission. VoiceZero Restaurant Mode gives you all four channels under one AI agent, at a flat monthly rate with no per-order fees.
Every order — regardless of whether it arrives by phone call, WhatsApp message, website widget, or SMS — is processed by the same AI agent, confirmed with the guest, and pushed to your POS system as a structured order ticket. Your kitchen crew sees orders the same way every time. No transcription errors. No "I'll check and call you back."
Live order queue in one place: Phone orders, WhatsApp orders, widget orders, and SMS orders all land in the same VoiceZero dashboard. Filter by channel, sort by time, flag for escalation — your manager sees everything on one screen.
Phone Ordering — What Actually Happens on the Call
A guest calls your restaurant's VoiceZero number. The AI answers within one ring and greets them with your restaurant's name. It asks what they'd like to order and listens using voice recognition trained on your menu vocabulary — so it knows that "the number four" means your combo meal, that "extra spicy" is a modifier for your chicken dish, and that "large" means 14-inch.
The AI walks the guest through the order conversationally. It confirms each item, suggests upsells based on your configuration ("Would you like garlic bread with that pasta?"), reads back the full order for confirmation, provides an estimated time for pickup or delivery, and ends the call. The complete order lands in your POS within 90 seconds of the call ending.
WhatsApp Ordering — The Channel Your Guests Already Use
In most markets, WhatsApp is the default communication app. VoiceZero connects to your WhatsApp Business number so guests can message their order the same way they'd message a friend. The AI handles the conversation end-to-end: greeting, menu questions, order building, upsells, payment link (optional), and confirmation receipt sent back to the guest.
What the AI handles
- Full menu Q&A ("Is the salmon gluten-free?")
- Modifier handling (extra cheese, no onions)
- Combo and meal building

- Pickup / delivery preference

- Structured order ticket (items + modifiers)
- Channel tag (WhatsApp, Phone, Widget, SMS)

Web Widget & Chat — Ordering From Your Own Site
Add a single script tag to your website and the VoiceZero ordering widget appears — a floating chat interface that lets guests browse your menu, ask questions, and place an order without leaving your page. The widget works on mobile and desktop, loads under 40 KB, and requires no third-party login from your guests. You own the order relationship entirely.
For SMS ordering, VoiceZero provides a short link guests can text their order to. The AI responds over SMS, builds the order conversationally, and confirms. No app, no account — works on any mobile phone including basic handsets.
POS Integration — Deep, Not Surface-Level
A lot of ordering tools claim "POS integration" but really mean they email a PDF to a tablet sitting next to the printer. VoiceZero integrates at the API level with major POS systems, pushing structured order data that your kitchen displays and receipt printers understand natively. No double entry. No staff needed to manually punch orders in.

Real-Time Menu Sync with Clover
Clover is the most-deployed POS for independent restaurants, and VoiceZero's Clover integration is the deepest in the market. When you connect your Clover account, VoiceZero pulls your full menu — every item, every modifier group, every price point, every category — and loads it into the AI agent's training context. Your AI knows your menu the moment you connect.
When you update a price in Clover, mark an item as out of stock (86'd), add a daily special, or change a modifier option, VoiceZero syncs automatically within five minutes. Your AI agent never takes an order for something that is not available. If a guest asks for an item that is 86'd, the AI apologises and suggests the next closest option based on your configured substitution rules.
Clover-specific: VoiceZero respects your Clover modifier groups exactly — required choices, optional add-ons, size selectors, combo configurations. When the order lands in Clover, modifiers are attached to line items the same way as if a cashier had manually entered them. No parsing, no re-mapping.
Order Management Beyond Simple Ticket Push
After an order is placed and pushed to POS, VoiceZero keeps the order in its live queue with full lifecycle tracking. Your manager dashboard shows every active order, its channel, its current status (new, in prep, ready, dispatched, completed), and any flags raised by the AI (allergy concern, confused guest, payment issue, special request needing human review).
- Estimated time updates: VoiceZero can send the guest an automatic WhatsApp or SMS update when their order status changes in the POS — pickup ready, out for delivery, delayed.
- Order modification window: Guests have a configurable 3–5 minute window after ordering to send a change. The AI handles the modification and updates the POS ticket.
- Payment integration: Optional Stripe payment link sent before order confirmation — guests pay before it hits the kitchen. Eliminates no-shows on large orders.
- Bulk order handling: For catering or large group orders, the AI collects the full order in parts, builds it as a single ticket, and flags it for manager review before POS submission.
- Cross-location routing: Multi-location restaurant groups can configure which orders route to which location based on delivery postcode, pickup preference, or phone number area code.
Training Your AI Agent
Every VoiceZero AI agent is trained specifically for your restaurant — not a generic food ordering bot. The training takes under 20 minutes and requires no technical knowledge. Your staff handles it in the dashboard.
Connect your POS or upload your menu
Connect Clover, Square, or Toast for automatic menu import. If you use a different POS, upload your menu as a PDF, CSV, or paste it directly into the dashboard. VoiceZero parses items, prices, categories, and modifiers automatically.
Set your hours, locations, and delivery zones
Define opening and closing times for each day, including holiday hours. Add your address(es) and configure delivery radius or postcode zones. The AI uses this to tell guests when you're open, whether delivery reaches them, and how long orders will take.
Configure specials, 86'd items, and upsells
Add daily specials that the AI will proactively mention. Mark items as unavailable (the AI will stop taking orders for them immediately). Set upsell rules — which items to suggest alongside which orders — so every channel benefits from the same suggestive selling your best servers use.
Train on FAQs, allergens, and policies
Add answers to common questions: parking, dress code, reservation policy, allergen information, private dining availability. Upload your allergen matrix if you have one — the AI will reference it when guests declare allergies and route to a human when required. Set your policy for dietary substitutions and the AI will answer consistently every time.
Set your greeting, tone, and language
Write your opening greeting or use the generated default. Choose your agent's tone — formal, friendly, or casual — to match your restaurant's brand. Enable multilingual support for the languages your guests commonly speak (74 supported). The AI responds in the language the guest initiates in.
Test and go live
Use the built-in test interface to send WhatsApp messages, simulate phone calls, and test widget orders. Review how the AI handles your specific menu items and edge cases. Adjust the training knowledge and re-test. When you're satisfied, flip the agent live — all four channels activate simultaneously.
Your Dedicated Escalation Number
The AI handles the vast majority of orders without human intervention. But restaurants have situations that demand a real person immediately — a serious allergy, a complaint mid-order, a guest who insists on speaking with the owner, a large event enquiry. VoiceZero provisions a dedicated phone number for these escalations and routes them directly to whoever you designate.
📱 VoiceZero Escalation Line
Every restaurant on Restaurant Mode receives a dedicated escalation number — either a new local number or a forwarding configuration for your existing number. The AI knows when to hand off and does so instantly, without making the guest wait on hold.
When the AI Escalates Automatically
VoiceZero's escalation logic is configurable but comes with sensible defaults that protect your restaurant from day one:
- Allergy declarations: Any guest who mentions a severe allergy (nut, shellfish, gluten — configurable) is immediately routed to the escalation line. The AI does not proceed with the order until a human confirms.
- High-value orders: Orders over a threshold you set (e.g. $150) are flagged for manager review before being pushed to the POS, eliminating fraudulent or prank large orders.
- Repeated frustration signals: If the AI detects that a guest has said "I don't understand" or expressed frustration across multiple turns, it offers to connect them with a person rather than continuing to loop.
- Explicit manager request: Any guest who says "let me speak to the manager" or "I want to talk to a person" is routed immediately, no questions asked.
- Complaint on an active order: If a guest calls back on an existing order to complain, the AI detects the context and escalates rather than attempting to take a new order.
Why Restaurants Choose Restaurant Mode Over Third-Party Apps
Third-party delivery apps (DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub) take 15–30% commission on every order. On a $50 order, that is $7.50–$15.00 gone before the food is even made. Restaurant Mode charges a flat monthly fee. Whether you take 50 orders a week or 5,000, the cost does not change.
Beyond cost, you own the customer relationship. No third-party app has access to your guest's name, contact details, or order history. With VoiceZero, every order builds your own database of customer preferences, order frequency, average spend, and channel preference — data you can use for loyalty programs, re-engagement, and marketing.
